I have a project I need to get done, and I was wondering if CalendarScript would do the trick, or be used as the base.

Basically this would be done for a website that would help 100s of members keep track of important tax dates. These tax dates are specific to them (ie a corp. business owner would have dates and sole proprietor might have other and vice versa)

So we would have a pool of event flagged by type of events (ie s corp, corp, llc, payroll, etc.). Then we would create the user and associate with one or more flag and based on that all the pertinent events would show on their calendar...

User could then check their personal calendar and also get email notice when a specific tax date for them is comming up...

Is this something that could be done using CalendarScript? As anybody manage to do something like that (mainly the pool of event association type thing)?
Any suggestions??

Thanks.
Jean

PS: btw, this script/software is just great...

** These tax dates are specific to them **

Then I think it would be better to set up separate calendars for each.

** get email notice when a specific tax date for them is comming up **

Email notification are NOT built into CalendarScript but there are a couple of plugins in beta release which might do that. You can find them linked from the Unofficial CalendarScript - Mods and Plugins site.

** mainly the pool of event association type thing **

Something like that was discussed in the previous forum message "Different categories idea" but I think for hundreds of users, separate calendars would be the way to go.

BTW. CalendarScript does NOT use a relational database.

** a website that would help 100s of members keep track of important tax dates. **

There are likely reminder scripts available that would be more suited to your goal.

Thanks Dan... (btw that was fast! )

Since CalendarScript has all the calendar stuff down, I was trying to evaluate if I could use it as a base... But you are probably right, and this might have to be coded from scratch.

It doesn't necessarily need to be coded from scratch, you just need to pick the right application to begin with. But I agree that if you want to use CalendarScript for that purpose, some modification would need to be added to it.
