Hi,

Just a quick question. I was wondering whether there is a standard time delay between adding an event and it actually showing up on the calendar?

I've created a number of users for one calendar and have added various events but then can't seem to view the additions when I go back to the calendar.

Many thanks for your help.

Cheers...

Paul

Hi Paul,

The events are probably not showing because they have not been "approved".  Login as Administrator, and follow this path:  Main Menu > Events > Approve Pending Events.  This will allow you to approve events that have been previously entered.

If in the future you don't want to have to approve events prior to their appearing, follow this path:  Main Menu > User Admin > Modify User Permissions.  There are two options:  "Approve Events" and "Automatically Approve Own Events".  The first gives the user permission to approve OTHER users' events.  The second will allow that user to enter events, and they will immediately appear on the calendar without any approval action by anyone.

Hope this helps,
Sarah

No, it should be immediate. It may be possible that an old copy of the calendar display is be being cached by your browser or ISP. Try refreshing the browser (in IE while holding the [Ctrl] key, In Netscape or Mozilla while holding the [Shift] key) to see if it changes.

Or it could be as Sarah said, the user didn't have permissions set to allow their events to be 'automatically approved'. BTW. If posting as the Administrator, the events should go directly onto the calendar without needing any kind of approval first.
