I have two calendars.  When I want to add/edit/delete an event, I go to each calendar and perform the task.  Information is not shared between the two calendars.  Is there a way to set the calendar program up so that information can be entered once and then the calendar(s) that I want it to appear on be chosen?

No.

There is a plugin available at the Unofficial CalendarScript - Mods and Plugins site called the "Schedule to All" plug-in which will cause an added event to be posted to all registered calendars. There is also a plugin named "Move Event" which will allow you to move events between calendars and a plugin named "Copy Event" which will allow you to duplicate an event onto the same or to a different calendar.

Additioanlly there is also the Meta Calendar plugin which can display events from multiple calendars at the same time without the need for the duplications and also the upcoming Meta Calendar 2 plugin which will allow you to define multiple meta calendars each of which can consist of different sub-calendars.

If none of those fit your needs, something could probably also be custom designed for your needs... for a price.

JFYI
