I recently started setting up an online calendar on a linux server for my school.  We paid our 50 bucks, so don't worry

However, my problem is that some catagories in drop down selection boxes don't always apply to the event.  When searching, there is the blank feild, but when adding events you are forced to choose one from the list.  TO get around this, I added an option which is blank on top, but then this makes two blank selections in the search page.

What should I do to be able to add events which aren't forced to select something (have it blank) from the dropdown box without creating the redundant blank spot in the searching?

Thanks.

Geo

** this makes two blank selections in the search page. **

You can select which fields appear in the search form by going to the Administration section's 'Customize Event Fields' and selecting "No" for the Searchable option for a particular Event field.

If that's not the solution you're looking for, please clarify what you're looking for.

Have you tried editing the field so it is not required?

To do this click on "Customize Event Fields" from the menu, then "edit" for the field you want to change, and select "No" for the Required the field.

I believe that the field will still display a blank in the event detail.

I don't know if I did it right, but it seems I have this problem fixed.  Thanks.
