I've used Calendarscript for years, and have loved this product. It's only been recently that I've been delving into the advanced features. Based on what I saw about security errors, I downloaded the latest version and the CSR Plugin. I cannot see the link that's supposed to appear in the calendar. The calendar itself operates flawlessly, I just can't get the plugin to work.

I have not tried this plugin on my old version; I'd like to upgrade it and add this plugin.

I have tried the various tweaks and suggestions I found in the forum (including removal and reinstallation of calendarscript and the plugin) to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Additional Information:
OS of Server: Win2003 (permissions set correctly on all directories)
OS of test machines: Win2000 & WinXP (all MS Patches available from WindowsUpdate applied)
Debug.pl results: Success (Calendar itself is just fine)

I believe it only appears when looking at the Event Details screen. The link code is added to the very top of the HTML page code so you might try looking at the page source code for text written even before (ie. above) the <HTML> tag in the page code.

I suspected that it should be there -- but it's not.

Looked in the source and there were two blank lines before the HTML tag.

Any other thoughts?

I did get the dayspan template to work as well. Thanks for the excellent Mods resource!

Only that the plug-in is failing to function properly. I'm afraid I have no idea why. Unfortunately when plug-in's fail, often no type of error message is displayed to help you to troubleshoot.

This is a decent plugin, I have it working well
make sure your base dir's in calender.pl and calendar_admin.pl are set to full paths, somtimes you need the full paths for plugins to work right, and remember there is a default path set in

display_after_getEvent.pl

$csr_config   = $main::plugins_dir. "csremind/csr_config.txt";

This will 100% cause the link not to display if not right
for your install.

Thanks for the tip Sonny. I have placed full path info into all of the PL scripts and still have no luck.

The Auto Register plugin worked, so I *think* I'm doing this plugin thing right...

Start with a new copy of CSRRemind (IMPORTANT)

Just set the full path in csr_run.pl (only)

set proper permissions and add the default.html
in path to /calendarscript/templates/calendars/default DIR

if you have a custmized vesion of that default page
(like for another mod etc) dont worry its easy to edit and add later) we just want to test things right now

then test any further problems just post
and I'll help you get this going.

Thanks for your help! I have a clean install going -- of Calendarscript and CSRemind and have put data into the "default" calendar for the time being. (I'll customize it later.)

I have changed only the csr_run.pl; have left the defaults under the CSR plugin management in calendar_admin.pl, and have copied the default.html file into the default calendar

I still do not get the link on the calendar's event page.

good thing I checked back
I use version 3.21
Plugins I run
Redirector Version 2, OneClick, Copy event and CSR Plug-in In that exact order and all work fine together

Notify2 and Redirector Version 2 DO NOT WORK TOGETHER
and I cannot get AutoRegister to work for the life of me( EVEN ON A CALENDAR WITH NO OTHER PLUGIN)
I keep getting permission denied when I try the link
I have the permissions set right I think

But lets see whats up with your CSR Plug-in

All I did was upload the csremind folder
change the full path in csr_run.pl
SET the mail program and the from email etc and it worked.

Now I did edit the default.html page pretty heavy for other
things but I also tried the default.html that came with the
csremind plugin by itself and it worked

Did you enable the plugin via admin?

Did you set all file permissions correctly?
one time I set every file but one and you guessed it
that was the problem.

Also try this
In your csremind plugin folder look in
display_after_getEvent.pl

then look for this line and set the path if its diffent the your calender folder
I didn't enter a full path, just the folder down from the plugin folder like this

$csvc_urlpath = "http://" . $csr_urlpath . "/MyCalendar/plugins/csremind";

Hope this helps

PS setting the full path in areas that do not say (base path)
will cause more problems then help


UPDATE I finally got AutoRegister to work
for some reason I never had a anonymous
user created.

Hi Sonny,

Still no joy. It's like the script doesn't even exist.

Could there be a module (or two) that I'm missing in my ActivePerl installation that is preventing my success?

And as a side note, I think you have to have an e-mail address on file with this forum to get the e-mail "tickler" about responses... I'm getting one each time you respond.

UPDATE: I ran the csr_run.pl and display_after_getEvent.pl files in my browser and got the following error:

CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

I'm not sure if this would be considered "normal" because I'm running them "out of context" or if this points to a solution...

Are you running a window server?
if so active perl could be the problem
I wish I could help more, I guess its just me and you around here
I couldn't get one reply to any of my post. a lot of these plugins
are from 2002 and the fixes or urls are long since outdated

I am running the latest version of ActivePerl and Windows Server 2003.

I know, I'm weird. This is a fantastic script. If I can find the answer, I'll be sure to post it here.

I want to thank all of those people in the past that have worked so diligently on this script and the plugins. You've created one heck of a product!

ANd thanks to you Sonny for helping me in my attempt to get this plugin running.
