Is it possible to bypass the calendar_admin password screen altogether?  I don't need such tight security because users already need to login via htaccess.  Thanks

No. A user needs to be logged in for the script to know what calendar to post the event to.

** users already need to login via htaccess. **

Than you could install the mod described in the previous forum message, " htaccess authentication".
