How do I create a new calendar template (different from the three styles that come with Calendarscript)  that I can use to modify a new calendar that I am adding to my site?

I managed to do this several years ago, but am not able to duplicate this feat.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Best,
Shelley

I have no idea how you can do it from scratch. You'll definitely have to replicate much of an existing template's code. The simplest way would likely be to start with one of the existing templates and just modify it to get the look you want.

Yes, that is how I did this.  But I am unable to see the "new" template in the Display Template Type: menu in calendar settings.  And when I modify things in the "new" template default. html, nothing changes (that I can see) in the new calendar itself.

I can change the calendar from within Calendar Administration Template Preferences.

Also, when I looked at the calendars. id and the calendars. txt docs in the calendarscript  folder, only 3 calendars (in calendars. id) and 3 calendar #format:id keyname and descriptions (in calendars. txt) appear in these files, although there are now 4 calendars.

Do I need to manually add this information to the above two docs? Because it seems the new calendar's template is not being recognized.

Weirdness.  :-\

Your help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Best,
Shelley

** I am unable to see the "new" template in the Display Template Type: menu **

A new template choice will only appear in the Calendar Settings section if you've created a whole new directory  under the /templates/calendars directory for the new template set. Did you do that?

Hello DanO,

I've discovered the problem.  And yes, I did create a whole new directory under the /templates/calendars directory for the new template set.

The problem was that we use three servers in our environment, only one of which is the final production server.  I was making the changes on that final server, unaware that I obviously made the calendar. pl, calendar_admin. pl and calendarscript directory functional on another server that then copies to the final production server.  Since I haven't had occasion to add another calendar since that time, I forgot the process.  I'm so embarrassed :'(

Sorry to waste your time like that.  It only began to dawn on me when I got an error message that made a reference to a directory on the intermediate server.  I transferred my new calendar template directory to that correct calendarscript/template server and voilą, I can see the template and make my changes.
