I'm trying to get the CalendarScript program installed, and so far I have most things customized the way I want them. Coming up with a problem and then also have 1 question.
Problem:
I can't post new any new events. Even though it tells me the event has been saved in the admin section, it will not show up on the calendar or when I go to view/edit events there aren't any in there. I'm assuming this would have something to do with the CHMOD settings - and in fact within the CalendarScript/templates folder the admin and calendar folders will not stay set at 777 or 766. They always defer back to 755 even though the results in WS_FTP show that it was successful. (I'm running off a UNIX server and a Windows operating system on my local machine. Using the latest Explorer browser and have received no error messages.) Any ideas?

Question:
How do I make it so that when the visitor clicks on a day, it shows a pop up with the details of the day, rather than a page showing hour by hour?

Thank you in advance!
Tina

Other than incorrect permissions, no. Did you try searching the forum for answers? That symptom has been reported previously.

First you'd have to change the link code to generate a popup window. The Old Style templates does this for event details, I don't know how the day view is presented with them.

Next you'd likely have to modify the template in the Day View section to retrieve the details of each event it would usually just list. Look at the Event Details portion of the template to see how it's done there.

Hi Dan,

Thank you for the reply.  I did figure out the posting problem.  So, I can now add events.

For the OldStyle calendar.  It displays the events that I want, but I haven't figured out to change the color scheme and add a header/footer.  There was a preferences file in the default so that was easy.  Am I missing something for the OldStyle?

Thanks much!

Can you share the answer in case anyone else might be plagued by the same problem?

Sorry but I've never used the Old Style templates.

I'm a little embarrased to say the posting problem was my own error.  I thought I had set the preferences not to require approval of events for non-administrators.  Next time I logged back in as admin, I found that all the events I was trying to post were waiting for approval.

Anyone who can give me some advice on the OldStyle calendar and how to set up a template for it would be great.  I really prefer the look and usage of the OldStyle, but the default already had a premade template that I just went in to change.

Thanks again,
Tina
