I've created a new event field with a popup menu called "category" and made it searchable. It shows in the search options page but when I go in to search on one of the pre-defined categories I get "Search query must not be blank!" and it returns no events? It also deselects the category choice and defaults to the last item in the list. Is it not possible to search on a pre-defined popup list or am I doing something wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't know what you mean by a "popup list", maybe a form 'select field' ?

If so, what have you entered as the values (not just the labels which are seen) for each of the various options?
