Hi All,

I have been using the calendar script for a couple months now and am still test-driving it for my school to see if we are going to continue its use or move over to something else.

I tried to adjust an event today (I had father's day wrong on the calendar) and I receive the following message:

"Invalid date format(s) in date field. Dates must be in the format 'undefined'"

* I checked the date format; it was correct.
* Went into the admin panel and changed the format to try entering the date in a different format; new format still didn't work.
* Tried entering a new event; same message received.
* Installed a fresh copy of 3.2 in a different directory with no mods at all; same message received.

Does anyone have any ideas.  I have been using the newest version of calendar script available.

Thanks!!

Someone reported something similar previously and it was found to be the user entered "mm" (without the quotes) for the month instead of "MM" (or vise versa) like it's suppose to be.

On the clean install of 3.2, it is already set to MM/dd/yyyy.  It still reports the above error message.

If you would like to see the error in action, I can provide you the administrator password by email.

Anyone have ideas on this?  Is anyone else experiencing it?

Maybe you could try uploading the script again in case one (or more) of the files got corrupted somehow. If you make a backup or the events.txt and schedult.txt file, you shouldn't loose any event information.

Did you try either of the things suggested in the two forum messages you posted to about this?

I did try changing the date format to various other formats, same result.

I also tried reinstalling, again same result.

I ran debug with the following results:

CalendarScript Debugger

Success!

No problems were found with your installation.
You should be able to run calendar and calendar_admin successfully!

All the files appear to be in the correct place.

I have been using the calendar for several years without any issues.

Preparing for a new application, on a different server, installation went fine, everything appears to work, until I need add or edit an event date.   Get the error "date must be in format 'undefined'.

Any advice?  I would be happy to give you access to the calendar if it resolves the issue.

** Any advice? **

I'm afraid not. I can't think of what could cause that besides possibly a corrupted file or maybe a problem in the browser. Have you tried using it with different browsers to see if it works there?

** I also tried reinstalling, again same result. **

How did you upload the files (eg. the .bat file, a dedicated FTP client, some sort of publishing software, etc.) ?

If you originally downloaded and used the .zip archive, you could try the .tar.gz one or vise versa. Some users have reported errors when trying to use one but no problems with the other.

I uploaded the files using the install. bat file, seemed to work fine and the debug routine had a positive outcome also.   I tried modifying the calendar from 2 different computers but it was the same browser (Internet Explorer), I also tried from a computer running the Mozilla Firefox browser with the same result.

One thing I did notice, is the link to Edit Events along the side of the calendar have an errant path, see example below (I removed the actual domain because I did not want it in this post).   Would this indicate somehow an error in the path set up during the install. bat process?  I just ran that install, did not change any files or locations.

hxxp: www. domain. com/cgi-bin/calendar_update/calendarscript/templates/calendars/default/hxxp: www. domain. com/cgi-bin/calendar_admin. pl?calendar=default&username=Administrator&template=edit_delete_events. html&year=2007&month=9

** I uploaded the files using the install. bat file **

I don't know if that might cause problems but you could try uploading a fresh copy using a dedicated FTP client (eg. WS_FTP) with it set to ascii transfer and not binary.

** Would this indicate somehow an error in the path set up during the install. bat process? **

The install.bat just transfers the files, it doesn't change them in any way. The script is set up when it is run for the first time, which sets a number of variables. Although if it ever worked (adding an event, etc.), a transfer problem could not be the cause of your stated problem.

** I removed the actual domain because I did not want it in this post **

Did you also remove a number of /'s from that URL?

It is difficult to know what is going on without being able to see the actual problem as it is.

**  I just ran that install, did not change any files or locations. **

Did you run the administration script and go through the set up? If you uploaded a fresh copy, that will be required too.

Regarding the question of removed "/", I did not.   The URL I posted is exactly the way the link appears in that left menu bar, I only changed my domain name to "domain".

If you uploaded a fresh copy, did you run the administration script and go through the set up again?
