I was wondering if we can have a new customer go to our website and create a login and password (by default make them a own event manager) through our site, or do we have to create users ourselves?

if someone can create their own account would we be able to default them to "own event manager"?

Using the "Auto Registration" plug-in available at the Unofficial CalendarScript - Mods and Plugins site, yes.

I don't know what you mean by that. Depending on the permissions you set up for the default user in the above plug-in, you can limit what they will be able do on the calendar.
