Hi Dan,

I'm checking out www.much2.com  -- great site!!!

I was wondering if the Birthdays Plug-In shows up only under Admin or if it also shows up under "Add Event."   Just curious if anonymous users (most of my viewers) would be able to use it.

** if it also shows up under "Add Event." **

If you want it displayed in the main calendar's menu, you'd have to add it. There is no way for a plug-in to be able to edit that template to add itself, that only possible in the administration menus.

Just duplicate the code for the Add Event link in the default.html template file and change the "template=..." part of it to point to the Birthdays template (...and the link text too).

Lots of good stuff there for mods to CalendarScript. Glad you find it useful.

Is it possible (assuming I installed the birthdays plug-in) to make "Add Birthday" a command in the main left-hand command list?  Such that there's "Add Event," "Edit Event," "Add Birthday" etc.  (That way it'd be available to everyone whether they're logged in or no.)

Or is that something that would require some real Perl knowledge (what I don't have) to do?

Thanks, Phyllis

Yes, like I said, "Just duplicate the code for the 'Add Event' link in the default.html template file and change the "template=..." part of it to point to the Birthdays template (...and the link text too)."

Okay thanks.  For some reason I thought those 2 sections would work differently.  Shows what I know.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question.

No, adding an event is adding an event.

You can however allow "anonymous" users to add events too by just changing the "anonymous" user's permissions. It may also be possible to modify that plug-in to allow anyone to add a birthday regardless of whether they're allowed to add a 'real' event or not. That would take some customizing though.
