Is there a way to get the "Day/Event" links top open in a new, separate window ... and in a smaller window than the full browser size?

Alter the link(s) to them in the default.html template file.

You'd have to use JavaScript in the link modifications stated above to accomplish that.

You might want to look at the "Old Style" templates shipped with CalendarScript as at least for the "Event View" page it uses JavaScript to popup it up or you can read about it using the default templates in the previous forum message "Using pop-ups with default template".
