No matter what user signs on they all see the same default calender.  If one user adds an event it seems to be added to all calendars. Each user does not have there own calendar.  Also I do not have an add new calendar selection in admin.  I am using calendar version 3.21

Is there a question in there somewhere??

** No matter what user signs on they all see the same default calender. **

That is normal.

** If one user adds an event it seems to be added to all calendars. **

That would be unusual.

** Each user does not have there own calendar. **

They're not suppose to unless you've enhanced the script is some way.

** Also I do not have an add new calendar selection in admin. **

No you shouldn't have to in most cases but without knowing exactly what you're trying to accomplish it is impossible to say whether you should or not.

How about stating how you expect/want the calendar to function and we'll try to tell you if it's possible and how to go about it??

I am having similar concerns. Let me try to address them more appropriately.

I would like to have a calendar - specific to a user - come up when they login. If I set a link to a calendar (thusly - www.mydomain.org/calendar/calendar.cgi?calendar=nhi)  the "nhi" calendar does come up. BUT... when the user/admin for that calendar logs in, the default calendar comes up - and that person then has to switch calendars again. That's inconvenient for all persons who own or administer a different calendar as is desired for our organization.

Before making a contrubition for this calendar script, I'd like to know if this is possible and if so, some directions and help to set it up.

Otherwise, the program is really a good one.

Thanks much,

Brian, Yakima, WA

** I'd like to know if this is possible **

Not as the script ships 'out of the box' but I did just complete a plug-in to accomplish such a task. I was considering packing it for download from the Unofficial CalendarScript - Mods and Plugins site.

If you want to keep the other calendars totally hidden from individual users, the 'Login Redirect' plug-in already available at the above site might be a better choice.

** some directions and help to set it up. **

I'm afraid a solution is much more complicated to accomplish than could possibly be supplied here in the forums.

Thanks, Dan,

I think I can work around this problem, but now I have a new one.

I have deleted the original "default" calendar, leaving two that I have set up. Now when a user/admin logs in, I get a blank page. I cannot determine how to set one of the current calendars to be the default - if that's what the problem is.

I also can't find and answer to this doing a search.

The web address is http://calendar.yugm.org  and the calendars are "clinic" and "nhi"  -  "clinic" would be the default.

Thanks, and sorry for my ineptitude.

I didn't think there was an option to delete that calendar.

I don't know where (or if) the default calendar can be set from the administration section but it is maintained in the config.txt file:

default_calendar=default

You may need to edit manually or may also be able to recreate the "default" calendar to get the proper functioning back?

Thanks again, Dan,

Yes, I actually just went back and renamed the "key" of one of  the remaining calendars to "default," but I like the info you gave about the config.txt file editing to rename the default_calendar to something else also.
