i wanted to add an event field that allows for an editable drop down.

like what is possible from here http://webdeveloper.earthweb.com/repository/javascripts/2004/10/609371/pp_editable_dropdown.html  via javascript

is this possible to create this as an option for the input type when creating a new event field?

No. Just simple HTML form fields.

hmm.  well would there be anyway i could have a list of choices to choose from, but also have a custom entry selection?

For my site i add alot of shows.  The shows are usually at 1 of 4 different venues, but sometimes it is somewhere else.  People are always mispelling or adding shows wrong, which effects some of my search scripts. so it would be nice to select the common ones, but be able to enter uncommon ones.

Only by having 2 separate form fields, one for each.
