Is it possible to eliminate one date in a recurring event? I have a club meeting every Tues., Wed., and Thurs. for an entire school year, but a few of the days are vacation days. Is there a way to still use the recurring event option and just delete the vacation days?

I'm afraid not, but you can convert recurring events to multiple single events and then delete individual ones of those. See the Split Recurring Event plug-in at the Unofficial CalendarScript - Mods and Plugins site.
