** Can't locate Net/SMTP.pm  **

If I'm not mistaken, Net/SMTP.pm  should be part of the Perl distribution. Check with your host to see why it isn't installed on their servers.

BTW. The only time SMTP.pm  should be required with this plug-in is if you've defined it to use SMTP to send mail instead of sendmail (which is likely the preferred method).

thankyou for the prompt reply

The only reason I smtp was because thats what it asked for in the admin setup of emailnotify2 and the only reason I installed emailnotify2 was because emailnotify did do anything useing the sendmail line........

cant seem to get either to work ?

with telewest blueyonder
and I have a cgi mail sevice that seems to work from my site ok at dlauk.net

any idea as to how to fix.

I just want to know when any of the calendars has been updated by someone.

ps  I would also like to send e-mails direct from the calendar after I update them maybe from the side menu.
is that possible

thanks again
John

If you want to use SMTP, as I stated previously, "Check with your host to see why SMTP.pm  isn't installed on their servers.".

is that possible **

Until you get any emails working I would say NO.

Once you get some email working on your server, something may be able to be custom disigned to do whatever you want, I've never seen anything ready made for the purpose.

JFYI

You added the SMTP.pm to your server?

** this is way I've written the smtp server in is this ok? **

I'm afraid I don't know, I've never had to use SMTP nor used that particular plug-in but would asusme "smtp.blueyonder.co.uk" would be the way the script would want it.

If mails are not being sent, maybe check with your host's support to see if there's any way they can track them.

I don't know what else to suggest, sorry.
