I'm new to this and know very little about cgi scripts and the like so be gentle.

keep getting this error:

Can't call method "get" on an undefined value at d:\home\camemphis.com\cgi-bin\calendar.pl line 338.

but when I insert the "?calendar=mycalendar" at the end of the address it goes to the appropriate calendar and works fine.  is that normal or is there something  i haven't done that needs to be done?

and is there anyway to block unregistered viewers from being able to see the calendar? again I'm a newbie so i know next to  nothing about servers although when I ftp to my site (Ascii) i noticed that i do not have the option of setting permissions on any file whatsoever, what does that mean exactly?

output for debug.pl

** when I insert the "?calendar=mycalendar" at the end of the address it goes to the appropriate calendar and works fine. **

Not when I tried it:
http://www.camemphis.com/cgi-bin/calendar.pl?calendar=mycalendar

But anyway, did you delete the 'default' calendar?

ok Im a moron, sorry. I have at least managed to find the option that restricts non-users from viewing the calendar that is taken care of.  Now if I can just figure out why it's asking for a "get" value when you go directly to the "calendar.pl" file.

** i was being ambiguous about the calendar name **

It usually helps to provide accurate information when requesting assistance.

** why it's asking for a "get" value when you go directly to the "calendar.pl" file. **

That may be connected to my previous question (which you haven't answered yet):

Did you delete the 'default' calendar?

Well as it turns out, yes I did unknowingly delete the default calendar.  After copying the default folder back up and then replacing all the files with my current calendar files it resolved the problem.  Thanks for the nudge.

Unless some other calendar is defined as the default (I don't know that that is even possible), CalendarScript will not know which one to use and hence run into problems.

There is this note on the Calendar Administration : Manage Calendars screen:

quote:
(Note: You may not delete the default calendar, or the calendar you are currently Administering)
JFYI
