The events do not show up on the calendar.  This started after adding an event on Sept. 2, 2005.  Ever since, I can still add an event, change the calendar from list to grid or show only one week or month, etc.  In all cases there are no events.  I have found the file, events.txt, still exists and shows the events added since this problem started.

THis problem occurs regardless of browser, Interet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla Firefox.

No error message appears.

I recently took over as webmaster and have limited experience.

Has anyone run across this problem before?  Can anyone help?

Thanks.

What CalendarScript version are you using?

Earlier versions had a problem with corrupting of the events.txt file resulting in no events displaying. You can read a discussion of that problem at the following link:

LINK > line-feeds in events.txt == "missing" events

I'm having the same problem. Just installed the Calendar today. The debug file says I didn't upload in ASCII, but I did. The events show up in schedule.txt and events.txt (think that's what they are called) but nothing shows on the Calendar.

Any suggestions? Oh, I thought I downloaded the latest version, though it was worded kinda funny:

Full Downloads
   CalendarScript321.ZIP
   CalendarScript321.TAR.GZ

Upgrade from Previous Version - Upgrade Notes
   CalendarScript321_Upgrade.ZIP
   CalendarScript321_Upgrade.TAR.GZ

Archived Downloads
   CalendarScript32_Upgrade.ZIP
   CalendarScript32_Upgrade.TAR.GZ
   CalendarScript31_Upgrade.ZIP
   CalendarScript31_Upgrade.TAR.GZ

I chose the top one, should I have used the Cal...321_Upgrade.zip instead?

Thanks.

** The events show up in schedule.txt and events.txt but nothing shows on the Calendar. **

They could just be waiting for approval. Did you add them while being logged in as the Administrator or a different user?

** The debug file says I didn't upload in ASCII, but I did. **

Using a dedicated FTP client or some other application?

I would likely trust the debug.pl script as I've never known it to be wrong about the condition of file(s). Did you try re-uploading the files?

** should I have used the Cal...321_Upgrade.zip instead? **

Not unless you're upgrading a previously installed version.

Yes I was logged in as admin & I tried to approve, but it always said, "No Events Pending Approval"  Yet the events appear in those text files.

I assume it's dedicated, Coffee Cup FTP? I even deleted those text files & refreshed my directories on the server & uploaded a second time. I tried changing the paths, too. Nothing worked, but I'm a novice with Perl and cgi so it's probably something I did wrong.

Yep, and I've used Coffee Cup's software for years & know that it gets glitchy at times, that's why I closed the FTP program, reopened it & uploaded the text files again. What is strange is that the debug file said about 25 of my files were corrupted, yet it worked.

First debug.pl told me my paths were wrong, so I fixed them. Ran debug again, got the corrupted files result, yet my calender finally showed up.

But no events post

Thanks.

Sorry but I have no idea what to suggest. Maybe try downloading the .tar.gz archive and uploading its files. Maybe the .zip file was corrupted?

BTW. Winzip handles .tar.gz files too.

It is similar to a .zip file. If you have Winzip installed, it will extract the files contained therein. Then you just upload them to the file server again.

DanO,

Thank you for your response.  I founbd and removed about 1/2 dozen ^M in the event.txt file.  Unfortunately this did not resolve the problem.

I have looked for the debug.pl file on the server and am not able to find it.  As soon as I am able to telnet to the server, I will upload the debug.pl file and run it.

Keep you posted
