I would like to modify the code that is used with statement is run...

specifically the source that provides the code for select boxes

It looks to be in the DBFileUtil.inc file in the calendarscript/lib/ directory.

Be careful what changes you make to that file as its functions are used all over CalendarScript both on the administration section and in the calendar displays. Changing them so you get a particular look/function in one place could very well produce unexpected results in all the other places it is used.
