I have several users set up.  I want the users to log in from the main login page(www.domain-name-here.com/cgi-bin/calendar.pl) and upon authenticating, I want (for instance) USERX to automatically see USERX's calendar (without having to choose it from a list)instead of the "default" calendar.

I don't even want USERX to know that any other calendars exist.

Can this be done?

Any help is much appreciated.

I'm running this on an apache/linux webserver and viewing it with IE 4, 5, and 6.

That's a bit of a conundrum as when they first go the calendar.pl they'll see whichever calendar you've defined as the default calendar which will likely be a different calendar then their own?

Just have them log in at calendar.pl?calendar=USERX

I'm sure it can but would require some sort of plugin. You might check TubaDave's 'Auto Registration' and the 'Redirector' plugins at the link below to see if they give you any ideas how to go about it.

Basically, the plug-in would have to use the display_after_login calendar.pl hook. It would have to loop through all available calendars looking for one that the user has permissions to view, then log them into that calendar.

You might also need to modify the select_calendar.html administration template. Older version would show all calendar's names instead of just those ones the user has permissions for. I don't know if it has been corrected in CalendarScript version 3.2 or not.

had the same question, but it occurred to while I was going through the features,
that I had read somewhere that you could ALLOW or restrict , public viewing by password only!

HERE IS HOW ...........
From    The Administrator Account
Select  the CALENDAR you want to BLOCK from View
Click,  Calendar Settings
Mark the radio button,    Require Login:
your done!

then anyone wishing to view the contents, MUST have the PASSWORD.
It means that anyone who views the calendar( accept main administrator)  MUST
have a password. They either share a secret password in the group, or
the main administrator for that calendar has to give each user a password
and view privileges.

Remember in ........  Modify User Permissions
to make sure you have  Specific Permissions/ View Calendar/ unchecked

I did complete a plug-in a while back that when a user logs in they automatically get forwarded to the first calendar they have 'View' permissions for. If they only have permissions for that one, that is the calendar they're taken to. Each user will be directed differently depending on their individual permissions.
