You could edit the template(s) or add the HTML code for it to the "header" field in one of the administration sections.

I usually do this  by generating a dreamweaver page of html which looks right, then copying everything between, but not including, the <body> </body> tags, removing all carriage returns (or it won't paste past the first one) in a text editor, then copying and pasting into the header box in template preferences.  same with footers.  Images and tables to aim positioning can be incorporated this was, as can links (ie to guidance notes or important information).  Images and doc links need to be  complete urls to the image or doc if its stored elsewhere (ie in the href tags eg src="http://anotherserver.com/images/thisimage"

I have a similar problem. I have img src="n1.gif" (in angles, obviously) in my header field, and hte image still wont show up...Im hesitant to use something more extreme, like directly editing the HTML...is there some path or file the image needs to be in to reference correctly?

You'll have to use the FULL image URL for the graphic or when displayed your browser will look for it where the calendar.pl file is located. (or you could put the images there but fully qualifying the image's location is better IMO)
