The last 6 months I have disappeared from these boards, and I hate myself for it. So I'm guessing you want an explanation. About 6 months ago, I was getting a little burnt out on programming, so I thought I'd pick up a game to give my evenings at home a little variety. My choice was Everquest, which was one of the worst choices I could have made. It's 10 times more addictive than everyone says it is, and you don't even realize you've been completely drawn in by it until one day you check your play time and realize you've spent over half your life (i.e. 12 hours+ a day) in a stupid game. So I got rid of my account and spent the last month recovering from the financial burden of not doing any work after I started college back in August. I apologize to everyone I promised to do things for and am excited to get back working on something that's actually productive.
So, with all that said and done, I am releasing the first (beta) release of EmailNotify2. Don't download this unless you can handle a few random bugs cropping up here and there. It is located at http://bama.ua.edu/~whitt013 until I get my csworkbench.com account back up and running (which is going to take 100 dollars or so of backpay before I can do that, should be able to afford it by the end of the month). You can contact me at whitt013@bama.ua.edu as well. Send bug reports and questions to that address and I will attempt to answer as many as possible after I get off work at 5 central time. There is a QuickStart.txt guide in the documentation folder in the zips which should at least get you started in getting it up and running. I may not have mentioned in the QuickStart, but the plugin currently requires CalendarScript 3.2 to run. I'll post a list of the changes that have to be made to previous versions as soon as I get a chance to go through and remember what is missing (I have to leave for work in a few minutes).
Finally, after the bugs get worked out of EmailNotify2, I'll be looking for another project to work on. Post here if you have any good ideas for plugins, and I'll browse through the older topics as I get the chance. Dan, I'd like to help beta test/debug/optimize the meta calendars plugin you're working on if you still need the help.
Good to be back,David Whittaker http://bama.ua.edu/~whitt013 whitt013@bama.ua.edu
Glad to see you back in action...we've missed you and cannot wait for your Email Plugin!!
I've downloaded your copy and will be helping with the bugs and such. Also notice that you have a addon for cron. Is that part of the download? If so, it's not accessible.
Anyway..welcome back!!

For some reason, this will no longer work for version 3.2 but will work for 3.1. Maybe you could double check all the coding for 3.2 to see what might have changed.
Thanks!
Dan O.
Of course we are longing for your plug-in, but it is also nice to hear your tragic explanation.
Good that something worse didn't happen to you! I mean you could be dead or something.
Otto Oustrup Jensen.
I know you said that EmailNotify2 needs 3.2 to run, but is there any way to make it work with 3.1? I have done a ton of modifing to the code and html docs and don't want to install 3.2 unless I absolutely have to. That then posses another question...can one just update the calendar.pl and calendar_admin.pl files to upgrade to 3.2 or is there more to it? I haven't really checked that close...
Thanks,Garry

Great to see you back! There's a reason that some people refer to that game as "EverCrack". I've seen many friends disappear for months without a trace solely because of it.
Regarding other plugin ideas, I would like to second the MetaCalendar plugin. Seems like that is another of the often requested ones.
Other than that, I guess that a plugin that provides a simpler way to color-code events is popular, and shouldn't be too bad to do.
Again, welcome back, you were sorely missed.
Great job with E-mail Notify 2. One little quirk I've noticed is that it will not send the e-mails out for events added with the popular one-click interface. Not a complaint, just something I thought you might like to know.
Thank you for your work on the program!

See the previous forum message "OneClick Add Event and Email Notify" and try changing the added code from after_add_event to after_schedule_event
NOTE: This is untested.

I've got everything I can think of chmoded to 777
I don't get it.
Was deleting and installing the only thing you did to get it to show up in the main menu.
I have the same problem, after activating the plugin nothing is showing up.
U deactivated/deleted/installed/chmodded/activating it for several times, but no luck (yet).
Hope somebody can help me out.
Regards,Age
