Hello, I've used CS in the past and loved it.   I installed a fresh copy last night and all seems well however events are not showing up on the calendar.   I've ensured the following:

1.  All files beneath the /calendarscript/ directory are chmod 777.

2.  The event data is writing to my events. txt and schedule. txt files.

3.  After adding an event I cannot see it to edit it in the admin control panel.

4.  Event data does not show on the calendar.

5.  Overall system seems to be working fine except for this.

Any ideas?  I've searched the forum and have seen similar issues resolved w/ chmod 777 but that's it.   Doesn't seem to have solved the issue for me.   My sites are running on a RHEL4 box w/ Ensim control panel.   It's pretty well cared for.

Thanks!

** 1.  All files beneath the /calendarscript/ directory are chmod 777 **

That is not allowed on all hosts as it can be a security risk. Normally data files and their directories only need 666 (read and write) permissions.

** I've searched the forum and have seen similar issues resolved w/ chmod 777 but that's it.  **

You must have missed the ones apparently caused by a corrupted file(s). If you can't find any other reasons, try reuploading the script making sure its done in ascii mode.

Hi Dan, I'm root on this box, I have several webservers.   I've reinstalled 3 times now. . . including uploading files from scratch and unzipping them locally on the server.

If you're using the .zip download, try the tar.gz one. Some people said they could only get it going using that one (I don't know why).

Sorry but I have no other suggestions.

I'm having the exact same issues, events are created and saved but not displayed.  All permissions seem correct.  In addition I notice that my calendar descriptions are not displaying or saving.

Going to try the tarball I guess.

Hmm. .  I used the tarball this time.  Extracted with 7Zip, copied everything manually to the server via CoreFTP (instead of using the install. bat script) and set the folder permissions manually.  It works!

Thanks.

Glad to hear it, thanks for the follow up.

I have edited, chmoded everything that I needed too. . .  My calendar is running just fine, but when I try to add an event, it will say that it has been saved but nothing shows up on the calendar itself.   Also I go to pending events and nothing shows there either. . .  I am really confused as to what is happening; I have even tried adding an event through the Administrator username. . .

That can happen when one (or more) of the calendar files gets corrupted during upload. I have mainly heard this when the user was using a Mac computer but might be possible with other opsys as well.

If you originally downloaded the .zip archive, try the .tar.gz file (or vise versa) and extracting and uploading it. Do NOT rely on an FTP program's 'auto' detection of file type but instead make sure they're uploaded in ascii format. I recommend using WS_FTP as a FTP client.
