Hi,
Calendarscript has been working fine for some time, 8 bookable calendars for equipment), but all of a sudden I am getting the calendar system  locking up periodically (say once/twice/day)
looking in the webservers error log I find
Can't call method "ExpireNow" on an undefined value at /Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables/calendar.pl line 380.

I tried replacing calendarscript with  the latest version, all went fine, calendars are fine, but still getting the error 500 say 1/2 times per day. No mods to system in the time prior to of after the the problem beginning.
(Xserve + OS X server 10.2.8, perl 5.6)

I suspect it is something occuring on one calendar only, is there any way of logging everything calendarscript is doing to track this more carefully.

debug.pl reports everything OK

Not that I'm aware of.

If it is occurring on any calendar other than the default, you should be able to tell which by examining the server's error/access logs to see what the URL query string was at the time the error(s) occurred.

Hm, hi, still having that problem, it all occurs after getting server errors like these reported:

Can't call method "hasPermission" on an undefined value at /Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables/calendar_admin.pl line 211, <COMMANDLIST> line 4.
or
Can't call method "ExpireNow" on an undefined value at /Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables/calendar.pl line 380.

then any other access gives:

[Tue Jun  1 12:27:27 2004] [error] [client 128.243.220.22] (35)Resource temporarily unavailable: couldn't spawn child process: /Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables/calendar_admin.pl

I guess the undefined value is the key, but I am unsure of the context of this - any ideas

** I guess the undefined value is the key **

While that is the result, I think the key to the problem is "Resource temporarily unavailable: couldn't spawn child process" which may indicate an over taxed server. That may also account for the inconsistency of the problem.

I think you're going to have to contact your host to see if they can check server usage at the time your CalendarScript file(s) are generating the errors.
