Hi.  I have installed the calendar script at http://www.thereturnonline.com/cgi-bin/calendar/calendar.pl   Uploaded the files via FTP instead of install bat.  Changed permissions, etc., but continue to get error - "Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request."  I have run debug which says everything should be running properly.  Have played with it forever and still no luck.  Finally contacted tech support for server who sent the following reply:

=============

Hi, there is a problem with the include files.
Can't locate asp.inc in @INC (@INC contains: /cgi-bin/calendar/lib /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i686-linux /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.0 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i686-linux /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl .) at /home/thereturnonline/cgi-bin/calendar/calendar.pl line 29.

=============

asp.inc is where it is supposed to be and permissions are correct.  Stumped I am, I am....  Have used this script on other sites without any problem.

Other info:

Linux Platform
Uploaded ASCII
DID CHMOD & path to Perl is correct
DID NOT change file extensions
DID manually change base dir to $BASE_DIR = "/cgi-bin/calendar";
This is a client & his web host has not been much help.  Webstrikesolutions.com
Debug says things are fine and dandy

Help anyone?

I don't know what's causing the error in your case but...

** DID manually change base dir to $BASE_DIR = "/cgi-bin/calendar"; **

If used, the above variable should be the server's absolute path (eg. home/thereturnonline/cgi-bin/calendar), not just the path from the root directory which you've used.

If all else fails, try re-uploading the affected files (calendar.pl, asp.inc, etc.) again. Maybe one got corrupted in the original transfer?

Thanks for your help.  I will try to reload files.  If base path was wrong, wouldn't I get a "file doesn't exist" error when running debug?

Dan - thanks again and again.  I re-commented the base directory and everything started working great.

Blessings!
