Hi Everyone,

I want to know if anyone has a way to keep track of when events are edited.   I would love to be able to get a full history of when a message was last edited and by who, but even if I can just get the last time it was edited and by who would be OK.

Please post any and all ideas.

Thanks.

It is possible although likely pretty difficult to implement, more so that could possibly be supplied in the forum. A very rough description would be to add extra fields to the event record to hold the last modified by name and date. Then design a plug-in to intercept any modifications and add the 'modified by' information to the event's record as the change takes place. Lastly would be to convert the date stored in the event record (which would be in Unix format) to human readable format, for viewing.

If you can't figure out how to do it yourself and it is important to you to have such functionality, you can contact me via email and I can try to quote you a price for making a custom plug-in for you.

Thanks DanO,

I was wondering if anyone had done it.   I figured that adding to the events field was what had to be done.

Thanks.

I was wondering if anyone had done it.

I don't recall anyone asking/telling about such a mod before. I did do something similar for a client once but wasn't exactly the same as what you want to do.

Maybe if anyone has a mod 'ready made' like you're looking for, they'll let you know?
