I have been using 3.0 on my website for some time without any problems.  Now I can't get into Admin.  When I log in as Administrator, it says that I have Logged In.  But if I try to add events or edit events, I get caught in an endless loop of log-ins.  In other words, I log in as Administrator, go to add event and I have to log in again, then once I log in again I go to choose which calendar to edit, once again I have to log in.  At this point I return to the original Log-in.  Very Frustrating.

I Just tried upgrading to 3.1, but still having the same problem.

Any suggestions? The calendar is located at http://silverspiritband.org/NewCalendar.html

I agree this is very frustrating.  I have the exact same problem and cannot do anything with Admin rights after I login through calendar.pl.  It lets me login but brings me right back to the login screen when I try to do something.

But whenever I login through calendar_admin.pl, I consistently get the error "Your Session has expired. You must login again".

When using debug.pl, I get
"The file does not exist, C:/iPlanet/Servers/docs/cgi-bin/calendarscript/session/junk.txt".  It is right and the file does not exist.  I do see some files being written to the session folder but not junk.txt.  If I manually place junk.txt in there (as it is when first installed), it gets removed somehow.

I have seen this problem described several times in these support forums but with no solutions.  (Except to check to make sure your browser has Cookies enabled.)  Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?  or at least how to debug?

I am running Windows 2000 Prof, iPlanet 6.0 SP2, ActivePerl 5.6.1.  Thanks.

I am still testing this product to see if it's suitable for our usage, but have just started experiencing the same problem. If there is a solution I also need to know what it is.

So far, based on how long this has gone unanswered, I am not pleased with the level of support for the product. Is this typical?

You could be right Charley.  I run XP at home and Windows 98 at work.  There are no problems withe windows 98.  The problem I decribe occured on XP.  I have found that if I access the calendar by typing the exact location in the URL (ex: http://silverspiritband.org/cgi-bin/calendar.pl  instead of following the link to the calendar, that I have full access to Administration.  Hope this works for you.

I'm running Windows 2000 Professional and continue to have the problem.  I've tested with using various client browsers as well as typing in the URL directly (as mentioned in a previous posting.)  But still no luck.

When trying to access calendar_admin.pl, I continue to get "Your Session has expired. You must login again." repeatedly.  Any other ideas?

Problem fixed!

My problem had to do with "time".  My web server (iPlanet) was was thining the current time was 4 hours later than my Windows system time.  Therefore, whenever a cookie tried to be written, it was immediately expired.  For me, I had to remove my environment variable "TZ".  iPlanet did not like my setting of TZ=EST.

Make sure your system time, the web server time values, and any other program's time all match.  This is especially important when an application uses Sessions/cookies, such as CalendarScript does.  Of course, your browser also needs to have cookies enabled, and the other prerequisites stated in many earlier emails.

I hope this helps!

I too have been using 3.0 on my website for some time without any problems. Now I can't get into Admin or as a user. When I log in it says that I have successfully Logged In. But if I try to add events, edit events or perform admin, I get caught in an endless loop of log-ins. In other words, I log in as Administrator, go to add event and I have to log in again, then once I log in again I go to choose which calendar to edit, once again I have to log in. At this point I return to the original Log-in. Very Frustrating.

My PC is Windows 98, my browser is accepting cookies and Java script is enabled.

debug.pl says "Success!
No problems were found with your installation.
You should be able to run calendar and calendar_admin successfully!"

I have recently changed from DSL to Comcast cable modem.

The website is running on a Rackshack leased server running Linux OS.

I have not tried accessing the calendar admin from a different location, that's something I'm going to try tomorrow.

Finally, I have not tried downloading a newer version of calendarscript.  Since it was running before I didn't want to complicate things with a new rev.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim
