Ok, back to this upgrade.   I am going to try it again and give you the detaisl of what happens next.    I am trying to upgrade to the latest version FROM 3.  0.   Do I have to do upgrades in order? As in 3.  0 to 3.  1 to 3.  ?? to the latest.
