I'm not familiar with this script at all, but one of my clients had this on his previous host, and now we are having all sorts of problems getting it working again, fortunately the client is very understanding.  Since I'm not all that familiar with Perl, I'm having a hard time looking through this script to find out what is wrong.  Can anyone tell me what the following error message means?

code:

MESSAGE TEXT MISSING FOR: DBFILE_FILE_OPEN_APPEND

Here is some of the specifics as per the IMPORTANT! READ THIS! section:
Server: Windows 2000 Professional SP4
Browser: IE 6.0
I download this in ASCII mode from a Linux server, and uploaded to ours in ASCII mode.  I haven't changed anything in the scripts.  I ran debug.cgi and apparently no problems.

** MESSAGE TEXT MISSING FOR: DBFILE_FILE_OPEN_APPEND **

That 'missing text' error message was suppose to be corrected in CalendarScript version 3.2. If you are running any version previous to version to 3.21, you should upgrade it or install a whole new current version as previous versions have a serious security flaw.

** I download from a Linux server ... Windows 2000 Professional SP4. I haven't changed anything in the scripts. **

Going from a Unix server to a Windows server, you will likely at least have to change the shebang (the very first line) of the calendar.pl, calendar_admin.pl and debug.pl files. Check you current hosts's CGI FAQs.
