I have finally got everything to work but although I have tried copying the auctions calendar first, then the events.txt.& schedule.txt only some events show up on the new install.   What am I missing? These are the 2 url's

Thank you in advance,
Jack

** only some events show up on the new install. **

I don't know how that could happen unless the events.txt or schedule.txt file got corrupted somehow.

You are transferring them in ascii mode?
And not opening either in any editors in between?

Some FTP programs will change the file line endings during transfers. You may be able to set it to leave them alone or make then Unix style (if hosted on Unix server).

Thanx Dan,
I just tried again making sure I transfered in ascii mode. Still can't get it right.

If I check on any of these options will it help?

Activate unicode
Convert %nn in a filename yo charactor of code NN
Keep connection alive sending NOOP command every 90 sec
Use list-La when asking for a file listing

Not likely.

Try searching in your FTP program's help for \n (the Unix style line ending) or "carriage return" (without the quotes) or maybe just Unix.

Dan,
Thanks for the help. I could not find a way to correct the problem using my ftp program. I downloaded another program and it worked the first time. Hope this helps anyone else who might have this problem.

The program that is loosing data is Captain ftp. for Mac. I'm sure they will fix the problem, they have been good in the past and I like the interface. . The program that worked is RBrowser lite. A free ftp program for Mac.
