We have been using Matt's Calendar script since 2001 with great success.  Just recently, when new events are added, they will not appear in the calendar.

When I check the events.txt file, I can see the new entries have been added. Also, when a new event is added, calendar_admin.pl returns a blank screen.

There are now 773 calendar entries in the file and it is 57k in size.

Does anyone have any ideas on what may be causing this problem?  We have not made any recent server changes.

FWIW, server runs on FreeBSD, browser is IE 6.0

Never upgrading since?  

If not, you can read about a problem earlier versions could experience at the following link.

LINK > line-feeds in events.txt == "missing" events

BTW. You could also be leaving your server open to hacker attacks by not having the current CS version installed.

Thanks for the link but our problem is different.

As it stands the calendar is aceepting but not displaying new entries.  And, the return screen after an entry has been submitted is a blank page.

If you or anyone else have any other ideas, we would welcome them.

I've been installing Matt's calendars for clients since at least 2000. The installs have always gone smooth, load it up, change the templates, poof, done.

However today I just DL'ed the latest version. Loaded up fine, everything **appears** to work, just no events. From admin it says it was successful. Calendar displays fine.

Just one problem. The events won't appear in the calendar. Yes, they are in /calendarscript/calendars/default/events.txt, I see them. Just not displaying in calendar.

EDIT: also not being found in trying to edit them either. Perms are all ok. Wonky!

FURTHER EDIT: Well it appears the newline issue in the link above wasn't the problem. Something was wonky with the approves. I set the confic to auto-approve messages and it appears the problem went away.

I offer up a meager contribution for those that can't get the install.bat to work and have no SSH access - See this thread.

Thanks for the script Matt! (but you really should get rid of those font tags. :-)  )
