Please help. calendar.pl loads fine. debug.pl says everything is fine. calendar_admin.pl loads fine. BUT, when i click 'continue' at calendar_admin.pl i get "You don't have permission to access /calendar/calendar_admin.pl on this server." My error log says: client denied by server configuration: /home/xxxx/supportforfamilies.org/calendar/calendar_admin.pl

We host our site remotely. I asked them what's up. They said, "I was able to replicate the error. I can't think of any reason why the error would be coming up (the script executes or it wouldn't have displayed in the first place - it should continue to do so)."

Any thoughts? I've read every post on this site around this problem. I transferred all the files w/ the batch code, i CHMOD'd everything to 755 (they don't allow 777), i made the proper $BASE_DIR changes to the .pl files and uploaded them in ASCII. I have deleted everything, unzipped, and started over.

Thanks, Kevin

It has to be something on the server side as the script is accepting GET parameters but not POST. I have no idea what would cause that other than server misconfiguration. Are there any .htaccess files in use in your web space preventing POST submissions?

Try contacting your support again telling them that to see if they can find out what could cause it.

BTW. You can see what the second setup screen would look like at:

http://supportforfamilies.org/calendar/calendar_admin.pl?fromTemp late=setup1.html&command=setup&setupScreen=1

While you could change those screens' forms to GET so the calendar can be set up, there are a multitude of other forms that would also need to be changed as well. So your host should really try to find out why it's happening and correct it.

Dan O.

Thanks much for your quick reply. I have contacted CS again. I hope they try a little harder this time.

We only have a few .htaccess folders on our website, designed for staff only. Nothing to do with 'post' permissions (that i know of).

I got a reply from the CS at Dreamhost:

"There's nothing on the server that would cause POST not to work, there are several hundred people on your server that use POST to deliver content all the time.
Unfortunately, there's nothing else we can do, there's nothing on our system that would cause the permissions error you're seeing."

Arrrggghhhh. Besides getting my own webserver, any ideas???

Thanks,
Kevin

The only other cause I can think of is an wayward .htaccess file. Sorry.
