I'm puzzling over how to add ongoing events in a more concise way than an every-day recurring event.

Just as all-day events don't get listed for every hour.

I don't quite want a "day-span" type of hack, I'd rather get something like a summary row at the bottom of the month.

Any ideas on this?

Or perhaps I should simply take the recurring events, and not have them "expand" into all of their instances, and instead show up in the "ongoing" section at the bottom?  (this seems potentially like a less invasive change than adding a new schedule field).  

I played with using an event field and handling at the template level, but that seemed not so good.
