I want to password protect one calendar so only specific people can view it. I am running apache 1.3.28, and have tried to use .htaccess files and edit httpd.conf for this, but something about the default setup for the cgi-bin is allowing viewing without asking for a password. I say this because I can get authentication to work outside of the cgi-bin. Is there an easy way to secure this calendar from being viewed by unauthorized users?

The only way you would be able to protect a single calendar using an .htaccess file would be to install a second version of CalendarScript in a separate directory from the other installation and password protect that whole directory.

Sure (depending on what you mean by secure). If you set up CalendarScript's internal user permissions properly (ie. Don't, give the "anonymous" (or any other user) permissions to 'view all calendars') they won't be able to.
