This has been asked before, but I could not understand the answers.  How exactly does this function work and when do pending events show up?  Right now, i have it set up that the only person who can add an event is the Admin (me).  Everyone else only has viewer rights.  How do I set it up so people can add events, I can see those events in "Pending Events" and then either approve them or deny them?  This would be a good feature for me to have.

Thanks.

Show up where?

If your mean on the calendar, once they are approved by someone with permissions to do so.

If you mean so they can be approved, if a user has permissions to 'Approve Pending Events' a message will display in red at the top of the main admin menu stating there are events pending approval. He then would click the link to "Approve Pending Events" at which time he can approve, reject or edit them.

** How do I set it up so people can add events, I can see those events in "Pending Events" and then either approve them or deny them? **

Give users permissions to "Add Events" but DON'T give users or the 'Anonymous' account permissions to "Automatically approve their own events" and DON'T give them permissions the "Approve Events" either.

** This has been asked before, but I could not understand the answers. **

Then you should have asked for clarification in the original message so others might be able to see what was said previously.

Just my opinion though.

I also have a question relating to this...

I want to set permissions so that anyone can add, but only admin can aprove the event before it shows on the calendar.

I don't know how to test the function tho' because there is no link to 'Add an Event' that shows up on the calendar.  You must first log-in as Administrator to 'Add an Event'.

What have I done wrong?

If you want options (Add Event, Edit Event, etc.) to be available even before a user signs in, set the "Anonymous" account's permissions for those options. If someone doesn't log in they are Anonymous automatically.
