Can anyone tell me if there is a complete list of Permissions available? I installed according to the documentation but am having trouble adding an event. The software tells me the event has been listed, deleted, modified etc, however, when viewing the calendar I cannot see any such listed events.

Thx

Mike

Not that I'm aware of but you could check the installation batch file to see how it goes about it.

Is the event being added to the events.txt and schedule.txt files? If so, permissions are NOT the problem.

JFYI

events.txt and schedule.txt files have been written, correctly it appears, with the event.

i might have found the issue. debug.pl complained that certain files had not been transferred as ascii. i converted the requested files with the suse dos2unix utility and voila, it works. however the admin html is screwed up now.

there must be something screwed uo with the distribution files though. i had no success with the install.bat and manual install with CuteFTP.

The events and schudule txts are being written to no problem and using the debug.pl say success so I'm at a loss here as to what actually might be the precise issue. Any ideas anyone?

I'm wondering if this is not a Javascript problem. I haven't yet tested it with Netscape but will do later, however, the software seems to have trouble with IE 5 & 6. Using debug.pl tells me my browser is not Javascript enabled, but it is though. I get the same reply from debug.pl on my work PC which is still using IE5, and that too is Javascript enabled. I've tried using Win 98 and XP using IE6. I've then tried at work using Win2k with IE5. All browsers are in fact enabled. Ideas anyone. I'm determined to get to the bottom of this though.

JavaScript is only used to popup the mini-calendar for selecting dates and also involved in the form processing. If it was not working, you couldn't even have submitted the event and schedule forms.

If the events are listed in the events.txt and schedule.txt files and are not awaiting approval, they should display in the calendar. JavaScript is not involved in that at all.

Maybe the data files are corrupted somehow?

i have invested a few more hours and i am pretty convinced now it has to do with the approvals. if i comment out in Event.inc line 115 and in claendar.pl line 628 (this is where non approved events are discarded) I can see the events and edit them. however i do not seem to be able to approve the events. event and schedule files seem to get written and read ok otherwise but i cannot add an approval. any ideas?

i really like the script otherwise, it is also programmed nicely. however at this stage i would appreciate if Scott could have a look too.

The event.txt and schedule.txt files contain tab delimited records. The first row tells what each of the columns are. Look to see what is written in the 'approved' field for those records.

no matter what i do, the "approved" position remains empty. even adding a "1" manually did not make a difference. the file gets written and updated, bit the approved field remains untouched. strange isn't it.

Yes it is.

I'm afraid I don't know what you can do to correct the condition, maybe try a new installation? If you originally use the .zip archive, maybe try the tar.gz?

Sorry.
