I am finally releasing the Meta Calendar 2 plug-in. It has been in use at a number of large web sites for quite a while with no problems reported.
Here is a synopsis of its features:
Allows multiple 'meta calendars' to be defined.
Each meta calendar can include totally different sub-calendars.
Events can be posted to the meta calendar (at the discretion of the administrator).
Events can be posted directly to a sub-calendar while viewing the meta calendar.
A user menu will be available so users can sort the displayed events.
The user menu will also allow users to restrict the events displayed in a number of different ways.
A calendar menu is supplied in the new template by default. It can be edited out if not wanted or is too cumbersome.
You can get the Meta Calendar 2 plug-in from the Unofficial CalendarScript - Mods and Plugins site.
Due to the number of files required to get this plug-in operational (listed in the installation file) and the time involved in creating and testing it, it will only be available with an appropriately sized monetary donation. Sorry, I can not give it away free like the previous Meta Calendar plug-in as I received very few voluntary donations for its use. Not nearly enough to cover my time involved with it.
Note: A modified default.html template file is supplied with the plug-in. No editing of the default.html template file is required for this plug-in's installation.
However, do to the complexities and number of template changes which are required by this plug-in, it is *highly recommended* that you use the default temple file that ships with the plug-in rather than trying to modify an existing one to work with the Meta Calendar 2 plug-in. I will NOT assist anyone attempting to use an older template to work with this plug-in! If you want to try, you're on your own (although there are notes in the installation instructions on what template code to look for though).
