After a fresh install of CalendarScript, everything works great until I create a new calendar.  After I create it and try to switch to it, I get the error message:

Data directory for calendar "Montana Libraries" was not found.
\n( ****:/calendar/cgi-bin/calendarscript/calendars/MyCalendar

The directory is there as it is specified, but CalendarScript cannot see it.  I have checked all the permissions to the folder and they are all OK.  What is the deal with the /n before the url?  Is that screwing things up?  If so, how do I get rid of it?

I am running CalendarScript on Netware 6.5 OES running Apache 2.0.52.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

** What is the deal with the /n before the url? **

Don't know. Is that a URL (can't tell without seeing the hole thing)? I think its suppose to be a server path.

** Is that screwing things up? **

Don't know until you figure out where it's coming from. On a Unix system, \n is a carriage return character.

My hunch would be that the problem may be with the path. Since you didn't post it for us to see, you'll have to try to see if you can spot any errors in it yourself.

Here is the full error message:

ERROR:

Data directory for calendar "My Calendar" was not found.
\n( VOL1:/calendar/cgi-bin/calendarscript/calendars/MyCalendar/ )

Calendar Script is running on Netware.

and the directory "MyCalendar" exists???

I would think (although I haven't ever checked) that CalendarScript would create directories with all lower case names. Eg. "mycalendar".

** Calendar Script is running on Netware.  **

I'm afraid I am not at all familiar with that web server software. I couldn't tell you if that might be related to the problem or not.

** VOL1:/calendar/cgi-bin/calendarscript/calendars/My calendar/ **

Is that a full server path? It looks kinda short to be but as I said, I'm afraid I am not at all familiar with Netware web server software.

BTW. Why would you alter to remove the "VOL1" of the path you originally posted. I can't see it presenting any security implications.

Just so you know, I did fix the problem.  It for some reason didn't like the key I gave the calendar. I put in My Calendar for the calendar key, and I changed it to nothing and now it works.  Interesting huh?

As for Netware, Netware uses Apache 2.0.52 and it works just like Apache on any platform.  (mostly).

Yes, that was the full server path.  I thought for the longest time that the problem was with the path somehow or with rights to the directory.  But CalendarScript created the directory, so I don't what happened.

As for the last question, why did I block out the Vol1 from my earlier post?  Who the heck knows.  I pasted part of the wrong error message (that is why it says Montana Libraries but the path is for the My Calendar calendar.  I seem to remember not being completely happy about pasting or something and for some reason, I decided to blot out the vol1.  I guess we'll never know.

Thanks for you assistance.  I still don't know why it didn't like that key for the calendar, but it works now without one.
