Trying to use a SSI call on a .SHTML page by inserting the following:

<!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/calendar.pl?template=minical.html&duration=31d&calendar=range"-->

The page is working but it will only show the "default calendar" not the "range calendar"

Is the include formatted correctly or have I messed this all up?

Found the answer to my own question in another post..

<!--#include virtual="../cgi-bin/calendar.pl?template=minical.html&calendar=range&duration=14d"

Think I switched calendar and duration variables!

As always seek and you shall find!

Thought my change would fix the problem but I still can only view the default calendar.

Does your server support the <!--#include virtual= SSI tag? Check your host's FAQs or ask their support.

Yes it will support it.  I am able to call the minical.html template onto the page but it is always the default calendar not the calendar specified in the SSI call.

<!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/calendar.pl?template=minical.html&calendar=range&duration=31d"-->

By inserting this I can call the minical.html but I do not get the "range" calendar I get the default calendar.

What do you get when you put the whole path into your browser?

BTW. Posting a link to your actual calendar installation would likely help us to help you.

If I put www.s88547033.onlinehome.us/cgi-bin/calendar.pl?calendar=range&template=minical.html  I get the minicalendar view of the default calendar not the range calendar.  With that view showing I can click on any day and it takes me to the default calendar list view for that particular day.

This is probably something simple but it has me stumped until I learn more.

** I get the minicalendar view of the default calendar not the range calendar. **

That looks like your "range" calendar to me!

There's only one event on the "range" calendar this month, on the 14th. That is the calendar grid which is highlighted on the mini calendar, the 14th.

The "default" calendar has events scheduled on the 1st, 4th, 8th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 27th. None of those calendar grids are highlighted on the mini calendar you linked to so you must be mistaken about it displaying that calendar's events.

This is what the mini calendar would look like if it were displaying the events of the "default" calendar:
