I was interested in using CalendarScript to schedule some encoding processes, I don't know if it's the best thing to use for this kind of task:

1) Schedule to encode off of one of 2 cards for a certain duration and then trigger and shut down the encoding (if it can trigger the start of the encoding, I can either pass the duration to a Unix "time" command or use a time flag depending on the encoder I'm using), but CalendarScript should be able to pass the duration on)

2) Make sure when scheduling these tasks that another encoding event isn't already set to use that card during that interval

Additionally, I probably need to tweak the end times a few seconds to allow for handoffs of the resource.

Does this sound like a reasonable way to use this package?

Tx.

I'm afraid i have no idea what you want to accomplish. Sorry. What's a "card" and what do you mean by "trigger" and "CalendarScript should be able to pass the duration on"? Pass it on to where???

If you're planning on using CalendarScript as some sort of timing device, it is a web application and only does anything when someone is visiting one of its pages. It doesn't do anything otherwise.

** Make sure when scheduling these tasks that another encoding event isn't already set **

There is a 'NoOverlap' plug-in available from the Unofficial CalendarScript - Mods and Plugins site which will prevent events from being posted to the calendar at the same time.
