I'm uncomfortable with 777 permissions.  I've tried to search the forum for advice regardging the "tightest" file permissions to use, but haven't found anything definitive.

Any "expert" opinions regarding the most secure file and/or directory permissions to use without cripling CalendarScript?

I've never found that to be necessary. I just unzip the files locally, upload them maintaining the directory structure and chmod the 3 .pl files. I've never needed to make any other changes on 5 different servers (both Unix and Windows) I've installed it on. Other servers may be different.

Basically all the other files and directories would need is read and write permissions. Nothing gets executed besides the calendar.pl, calendar_admin.pl and debug files.

JFYI
