Hi all!  I've got a potential newbie question.  If you can direct me to the answer I'd really appreciate it...

I use the calendarscript-powered HSU calendar as my homepage (http://www.humboldt.edu/%7Ecalendar/)basically the program will only allow me to use the Month Grid view as my home page.  I'd really like to use the Today List view or the Week List view as my homepage.  Please advise.

I am running Safari on Mac OS 10.3.  I've been unable to get assistance from the university's administrator on this issue.

Thanks!

Joseph Russavage

This is really simple:

Change the default Template Display Preferences accordingly,
--or--
In the Frame URL called from your home page put   http://www.humboldt.edu/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/calendar/calendar.pl?View=week&style=List

Thanks musicvid! But...

When I used the link you provided (very cool, by the way) it takes me to the MONTH LIST view. Of course that doesn't make any sense, but even if I change the url to say day where it had said week Huh?  As for changing the Template Display Preferences... Is that something anyone can do, or does it require being an administrator?

Best Regards,

Joseph

Sorry, that SHOULD have been:
http://www.humboldt.edu/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/calendar/calendar.pl?view=Week&style=List
(It IS case-sensitive).

For Today's Events you would simply use:
http://www.humboldt.edu/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/calendar/calendar.pl?view=Day&style=List

Yes, to change the Template Display Prefs you need to be permissioned to do so.

Thanks for all the help uservid!  I don't want to waste anyone's time.  Is there a place that I could have gone to to discover the answer myself?  "man" pages?  I'd like to be a more proficient user...   I know fundamental UNIX but lack some knowledge.

Thanks!

Joseph

Yes, this link has been an excellent source of help to me: http://calendarscript.com/documentation/

The "Customization" category especially interesting. Most of what I've done to my site is a result of what I found here. http://calendarscript.com/documentation/customization.html

Also, DanO's Mods and Plugins page has a wealth of concise information and customization ideas. http://www.much2.com/calendarscript/index.html

Happy Holidays!
