I manage our city website and need to allow departments to start adding some of their own content without letting them have the server password or having to learn html. First stop is a municipal meetings calendar.. here I am.
I only know the basic html so perl, scripting, etc., is over my head but I'm willing to learn. However, before I spend too much time, I want to present a decent looking calendar to our Clerk for her review - she may want something else. So I'm hoping someone can help me with a quick format problem.
I cobbled in a header to make it look similar to our other webpages, but there is space above it I don't know how to get rid of. (I think since our site unfortunately uses frames, maybe my best bet would be to utilize them to draw the calendar.. but I haven't learned how to do that yet..) Here's the website: http://www.nomealaska.org/clerk/index.html
and here is my attempt: http://www.nomealaska.org/cgi-bin/calendar.pl
On that first page you will see how we do it now.. they give me a MS Publisher calendar, I turn it into a pdf and upload it. It is the link Public Notice Calendar.
As for my header and footer I added, I just did it in tables in that calendar_admin.pl dialog as I don't know css yet.. I know it is crude.
cheers, (and thanks for reading..) Hunky
